Feb. Update

PARKER HAS ANOTHER COUSIN!!! Aunt Jenny delivered baby Jozlynn Tuesday evening this week. Jenny and JD went into the hospital midmorning when the rest of the family followed. Jozlynn is absolutely adorable; such a pretty baby! Everything went great and they are back at home now. We went over Friday to see her again, but I wasn't thinking and forgot my camera! STUPID! So I will have to post some pictures real soon! Congratulations Jenny and JD!!!

Today we were having a great afternoon and got a couple good pictures in his bedroom with his shelves. Great Grandma Woodard built this for Parker and I've been terrible about getting pictures of them. They are wonderful and Parker has really enjoyed them (AND mom and dad too!). Now his toys aren't scattered all over the living room floor and Parker knows exactly where they are at when he wants them. THANKS GREAT GRANDPA!!!

After play time in Parker's bedroom, it was time for Mom and Dad to clean house. Usually Parker watches from afar when we do this, but today he wanted to help. He was in charge of sweeping. He was awfully proud of himself - until he hit himself in the face with the handle. He wasn't much help after that.

Thursday this week was Little Sports Night with the program (PAT) that Parker and I are apart of. They have high school athletes come down and play their sport with little kids (younger than kindergarten). Parker had a blast! He played volleyball with balloons, softball with yarn balls, soccer, bowling, cheered with the cheerleaders (didn't stay their long because Dad was giving me funny looks when Parker picked up the pom pons), and "tumbled" on the mats. And then he got to hang out with all Mom's students and athletes. Super fun night!

Haley plays soccer for Maize and is going to Texas A&M next year to play soccer. Sounds like she is getting a great scholarship too! Haley is my girl when it comes to math...she has taken all the math courses that Maize has to offer! Good luck Haley!

Taylor and Jess are girls on the softball team. Jess is going to Paris, Texas next year to play softball - full ride! Go Girl! And Taylor is probably going to Tabor next year. These two girls are super special to me! I've had them both in the classroom and on the softball field. Good luck girls in all you do!

Here is a Parker update...

Weighs about 26 lbs. Not sure on the height, last time at the doctor, Dr. Tsang didn't tell us.
Daily routine (on a weekend) is wake up around 8 and have some rice cereal and juice for breakfast. Watch SpongeBob and do lots of playing around - usually Dad's at work. Around 9 it is time for the morning nap. Sometimes Parker will walk into his bedroom and point at his crib - then you know it is definitely time. He will wake up around 11 and then have some lunch. Lunch is usually a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or chicken nuggets with some fruit. He has really been loving grapes lately! After lunch we will go run errands or go visiting family, just in time to get home, have a snack (usually some animal crackers or cheese), and take another nap around 2ish. Wake up around 4 and we get some more play time in before dinner at 5:30. We let him get a little messier at dinner time. Throw some pudding or Ravioli or something like that in front of him, because bath time comes next. After bath time Parker picks out 3 books and I read them to him. And then off to bed it is!

Parker sleeps thru the night. His bedtime is around 6:30/7:00 and he usually gets up around 7:30/8 if we don't have to take him to the sitter. Then he will take 2 naps during the day, each about 2 hours long. Do the math (or I will for ya). Parker is only awake for about 7 hours a day!
Parker points at whatever he wants. Whether it be food, a drink, a toy, or his crib. Whatever Parker wants he points and then does a little grunt thing. Can't wait for him to start talking!

He likes to read books. If we are playing in his room, Parker will go over to his shelf with the books, grab one, and bring it over to me or Kevin. Then next he tries to sit on our lap and bounces around. He can't wait for us to read him the book! He helps out by turning the pages.
Parker is trying so hard to talk! He is a jabberbox when he is at home with Kevin and I. When you get him out of his comfort zone he tends to get quiet. But he says ball the most. You can turn the page of a book and their be a ball on it. He will quickly point to it and say ball. Of course he has been saying mama and dada for a while. And he also can tell you how a cow goes..."MOOOO." I think we are getting close to where the nose is when asked as well as belly button. More to come there later.

In the morning, Parker will play with his toys by himself for up to an hour. After breakfast, Kevin and I can really get some things done with Parker entertaining himself. Whether it be pushing his lawnmower around the house, jumping around on his zebra, chasing balls around, playing with his farm animal set or building with his blocks, he is great at playing in the morning.

SpongeBob SquarePants is still the favorite show. I Hope You Dance by LeeAnn Womack is his favorite song. I play it in the morning on the way to the babysitter house. He loves to try to sing along and I always get a big grin when the song starts to play.

Parker brushes his teeth twice a day - morning and night. All 9 on them. He just recently got a molar tooth in. WHOA he was cranky that night it came in. But I guess you can't blame him - OUCH!

Parker is definitely dealing with separation issues right now. It was never too bad dropping him off at the babysitters, but here lately neither Kevin or I can put him down without him screaming. And at bedtime/naptime he used to lay down and go to sleep, but now he likes to be held. He puts his arms around our neck and lays his head down. How can a parent resist!!!
