Baptism

So proud of my son! Parker was baptized!
We spend every night before bed in prayer and it was about a year ago when he had a lot of questions about Jesus, God, and Heaven. After some time, he told me that he believed in Jesus, and that he died for him and he wanted Him to live in his heart. HALLELUJAH! We spent some time in a workbook the church recommended for Parker and we really enjoyed working through it. Then Parker's next mission was to get baptized. He has been bugging me about it for a while. I admit I was hesitant - did he really get it? did he understand? was he too young for this HUGE step? We made an appointment with the youth pastor. He assured me he wasn't there to decide if Parker
was ready for not, but usually after a session (and some prayer) everyone would know if he was ready or not. So I got to listen to Parker answer questions about God and Jesus for about an hour. I was so impressed - he "gets it" more than I ever knew. The pastor was asking hard questions and Parker knew every answer and could verbalize it so good. I'm so proud and blessed. At the end of the session, I knew absolutely that Parker was ready. The only part of the session that surprised me was when the pastor asked who Parker wanted to baptize him. And Parker said he wanted ME to do it since I had helped him find Jesus. (GASP and GULP) It totally stressed me out, but it was also something I was proud to do. God has been working on Parker and he will do great things!
