November Stuff

I can’t believe November is almost over. Time flies when you stay busy! Kendall is growing like a weed and I love to watch her change from day to day. She is a pretty independent baby; likes to lie on her back and bat at toys over her head or bounce in her chair. She is not a baby that HAS to be carried, but when she wants to be held she prefers to face out.

Everyone once in a while she will get all snuggly with her mommy and daddy by burying her face in our neck. Her whole body tenses up like she is giving us a hug. Kendall is also so ticklish. Her back, her side, her neck…we can usually get a cute giggle out of her without much work. She is also becoming quite the thumb sucker. If it isn’t her thumb it is her hand, her sleeve, or a blanket.

And Kendall has also found her voice. Parker and I were driving to the sitter’s house one morning and she ewwed and ohhed for the 10 minutes drive. Parker and I were giggling at her. I asked Parker what she was saying and he told me “I don’t know, it’s all gibberish” (how does he know that word??). HA!

Speaking of Parker, he says the funniest things! Driving to church today, he asked if we were on Kellogg (the highway close to our house). I laughed and told him no; thought it was funny he knew the name of the highway. He replied with “well, then are we on Maize woad (road)?” Amazes me…how does he know the name of the streets by our house?! And the other night we were having ice cream and I decided to chop up some cookies to add as a topping. When he bellied up to the table, he says “Mom, that looks delicious!” And after his first bite, he tells me when his mouth still full, “so good, I wish my mouth was bigger!” He always brings a smile to my face.
He also got his first report card this week from preschool. Both mom and dad are VERY proud of him! All stars! Some of the categories were Social Skills – communicates with teacher, verbalize first and last name, Classroom Environment – respects equipment and follows routine, Speech/Language – controls voice volume (hard to imagine!), speaks clearly, Fine & Large Motor Skills – can string beads, can run easily (didn’t need a teacher to tell me that one!), Visual and Verbal Color Recognition and lastly can recognize printed first name. His teacher’s comments were “Parker is a very sweet and happy guy. He always makes me smile! He seems to love the activities we are doing. He is very nice to everyone. I am enjoying him in class.” Way to go Parker!
