We had a great day today at the Maize Fall Festival Parade. Parker's first parade! He really enjoyed the fire trucks, ambulances, the bands, really anything that made loud noises.
UPDATE : Parker is now a professional crawler...no problem! He also pulls himself up on everything. Sometimes he pulls himself up on the kitchen chairs and then scoots them around. He has also learned the meaning of "NO!" He tries to bite the coffee table and when we tell him "no," he gets the big bottom lip and usually cries a little. It usually takes once or twice for him to actually stop what he is doing...stubborn little guy! He likes to wake up in the morning and stand in his crib; he has been doing that for about a month now. He usually just stands in there and talks to himself - sometimes up to 15 minutes. But as soon as we move the door to see him, he is all smiles! As for foods, Parker still enjoys banasas, peas, carrots, and sweet potatoes. Green beans are still the worst! We did try chicken tonight and that seemed to go well. Also this week we did half whole milk/half breast milk in his cereal. So far so good. My goal is to be done nursing by about 10 months. Right now he has a bottle in the morning, one around 4, and then again before bed. Parker has never had any formula; I think that is one reason he is so healthy - only 2 colds in 8 months! (Knock on wood!) Parker also eats cheese slices torn up, cottage cheese, Gerber puffs, and Cheerios. He is getting better at hitting his mouth - we always pick him up from his highchair and Cheerios fall everywhere! By looking at him you would think he never misses his mouth. I have also introduced the spoon to Parker; I know he is a little young for that, but he does a pretty good job. I dip applesauce on the spoon side and then lay it down in front of him. He picks up the handle end and puts the spoon in his mouth. He is pretty messy by the end of dinner, but it is fun to watch him learn. And still his only word (that we can understand) is "da-da." Bath time is still a blast and we have added bubbles; he likes those a lot!
