Kendall had her three year checkup last week. She weighed in
at 34 lbs (about 75%) and was 39.5 inches tall (over 95%). Both the doctor and
nurse said she was “huge” – in regards to her height. I think that will be one
of the last times she will be able to walk into the doctor’s office, they call
her huge, and she not take offense. She also passed all their tests with flying
colors!
Form sentences with three or more words, walk up the stairs
with alternating feet, copy a line, jump off two feet and land on two feet, dress
and undress herself, try to brush her teeth, name animals and what sounds they
make, and tell shapes and colors.
And in TRUE Kendall fashion, she would only participate for
a little while. We got about ¾ the way through the “tests’ and she was DONE!
Kendall’s way or no way! The doctor said it was okay, she passed where an average
three and a half year old would be, so it was okay to stop.
The appointment was first thing in the morning and Kendall
doesn’t like to eat right when she wakes up, so I brought a PopTart with us in
case we didn’t make it through the appointment. And of course she gets hungry
while we were there, so I gave her one of the PopTarts while the doctor was
examining her. She scarfed it down and wanted the second one. Two seconds later
that one was gone and she was rummaging through my purse and found a bag of
fruit snacks. So I gave that to her too. Geez, I looked like mom of the year
giving her sugar after sugar after sugar. Dr. Tsang laughed and we agreed she
had a healthy appetite.
The appointment ended with a Hep A shot; not her favorite,
but she got a pink smilie face bandaid. When I dropped her off at Tammy’s
house, she was telling everyone that she “got shot.” Silly girl!
Back at home (in the real world) Kendall is a hoot! The
things she says and she has the funniest faces to go along with her comments. And
she is totally my girlie-girl! Every day she wants to be in a dress or tutu. Sometimes
she can go through 3 or 4 dresses in an evening. She likes to “dance” and “flip.”
She likes her hair in a braid because it looks like Elsa’s hair. And the girl
NEVER stops talking! EVER! Non-stop! She likes to paint the most, but coloring
is a close second. Her and Parker spend a lot of time on the trampoline
bouncing around. She also can move pretty fast on her tricycle. Kendall still
enjoys her sleep – now that school has started (so she goes to Tammy’s) she is
in bed by 8 and up at 6:30. But then takes a couple hour nap. On the weekends,
Kendall still goes to bed around 8, but will sleep in until 8. At home her naps
will extend to up to 4 hours. She is getting better at playing in her room by
herself for longer periods of time. She likes to watch movies in her room and
play dressup with her dolls (the magnetic kind). She also plays with her couple
Barbies she has. Her favorite foods are mac-n-cheese, chicken nuggets, and
spaghetti.
Parker went with Maus for a day so Kendall had a Mother-Daughter Day! We went to Build A Bear and had a blast!
She gave it an "air" bath.
She named the bear Elsa and then we cruised the mall!
Good day!
Kendall loves to sun bathe with me.
"SHHHH Mom! I'm working!"
