It's been a while since I've updated on Parker's progress...so here goes. Parker will have nothing to do with baby food now! NOTHING! Kevin and I can barely feed him his cereal in the morning; he likes to do everything himself. So I have all these cubes of prepared baby food in the freezer that I made and nothing to do with them...if anyone is feeling some pureed peas or pears you know where to find them. He eats just about anything that he is capable of with 6 teeth. Still loving bananas and sweet potatoes. Goldfish, crackers, pears, peaches, carrots, zuccinni, etc, etc, etc. Parker loves to eat!
While on the topic of eating...no more nursing!!! I'm free!! I had been nursing him once right before bed. It was more of a comfort thing for him, but it was a nice way to get him to settle down and go to sleep. So Kevin and I were a little worried how he would take not getting "comfort food" anymore. And knock on wood, but bedtime is a breeze!!! Even the first night he didn't cry. After a bath, Parker and I sat in the rocker in his room and read a couple of short books. After that tucked him into his crib and he went right to sleep. Since then we have had no problems. He is in bed by 7 and that leaves time for Kevin and I...so nice! It seems like so long ago we had evenings together! I must admit though, and I'm still shocked that I'm going to say this, but it was kinda sad (stopping nursing). My little boy is growing up.
Moving on...literally...Parker is walking! Not full out yet; the most steps on record thus far is 8. He just prefers to crawl. He is just afficient (haha) - he can get there faster. He also loves to push a popcorn tin around. He gets so frustrated when he pushes it up against a wall or something. He doesn't understand why it won't go any further.
Parker also helps out around the house. I think the new phrase is "green." He turns off the light switches behind us. Such a good little energy saver.
Parker also loves music. He knows how to turn our stereo on, so he turns on the radio and starts booging. He got his Mama's moves - thank god! I will be getting a video of this; it is too cute to miss. His favorite song has to be the intro to the TV show Spongebob Squarepants. (Click the link if you are not familiar with this song) No matter where he is at in the house and that songs comes on, he races to the TV and does his little bounce to the song. Again..gotta get a video!
We have heard him say mama, dada, and bye-bye. Now we can add the word ball. And he loves to clap his hands. We were watching the Price is Right the other day, and when they scanned the audience clapping, Parker decided to join in on the fun. But that is not the only time; just about anytime someone says yah - Parker will clap.
So excited about this one! Parker's toys are taking over our house, so Kevin and I went and bought some different size storage containers and asked Great Grandpa Woodard to build us some shelves. Here is a preview. It looks amazing! I can't wait to get it in his room.
For this next one...just imagine Parker yelling at the top of his lungs. He cracks me up!
