We headed out for our FIRST camping trip last weekend at Cheney Lake. We didn't know how the kids would do - NO ELECTRONICS! and sleeping all night in a tent, but they did great! We played on the playground, played a ball-toss game, went on a nature hike, and of course roasted marshmellows for smores! There also was a creek right behind our campsite that the kids have fun having leaf races. We thought Kendall would be distracted enough to skip her nap, but NOPE! She took a nap in the tent (I was kinda jealous, it was the perfect temperature for a nap). Maus came out and joined us late afternoon for dinner and a campfire. The temp got pretty low at night (40s) but we had a small heater to help with the cold. Kendall woke up around 3 and cried a little. I think she just didn't know where she was. But she crawled into bed with us and she went right back to sleep. After that we all slept until 8:30. Pretty good!! We fixed some sausages and egg burritos, packed up camp and headed home. A really great experience!
