Basketball

Parker had another great year of basketball. A couple of the kids that play on his baseball team got together and played basketball at the YMCA. One of Parker's baseball coach's, Jimmy Zimmerman, took on the challenge of coaching them in basketball. Parker loves him as a coach because he is challenging and tells them how it is (and fun!). He learned a lot and their team when undefeated! The second half of the season, Parker really caught fire and was scoring about 14 points a game. One game he had 28 points!! He loves defense and rebounding. I can't wait to watch him progress over the years. He is such a hustler and student of the game. (It helps that he is a head taller than most kids on the court :) )

He has TONS of blocks!

There's my lefty!

Ryder Zimmerman, Tanner Herrington and Parker will be such good friends for so long! They are awesome teammates! When one of them make a basketball, they are quick to go pat that kid on the back and tell them good job. If one of them gets hurt, they are so concerned for each other. AND they are ALL so competitive! Love these boys!

December Stuff

The Meirowsky's have had a busy month!
Kevin went hunting with his "group," so the kids and I had the weekend to ourselves. They are both so unique and different and I love them both so much! One thing that I love about them so much is how they love to play together. Parker is such a good big brother to Kendall and Kendall looks up to Parker so much. We are so lucky to have such great kiddos!
This weekend happen to be the weekend before Halloween and we watched an "old" movie that I liked when I was younger. I didn't know if they would like it, but they sure did! Hocus Pocus! Kendall watched that movie EVERYDAY for at least the next couple of weeks. (not exaggerating).

Kendall is also definitely my girlie-girl. She still loves to paint her toes, curl her hair, wear sparkly clothes and dresses. She is truly a princess! However, her favorite hairstyle right now is the "Elsa." We GOTTA have a braid everyday. She loves when it is the side braid, but not all of her hair is long enough to fit, so a regular french braid works too.
Then we had a new addition to the household - Jasper! When Kevin goes hunting the place where they stay, their hunting dogs there had babies. And Kevin has been wanting a hunting dog so bad, so we now have a French Brittany. He was 8 weeks old when he came to live with us. It has been an adjustment to back up into the puppy stages again, but overall he is a good dog. Him and Reagan get some good "fights" going, but Reagan keeps him in line.

And here it is the Sunday before Christmas. I can't believe it is already that time of the year. So much has happened and my kids are growing up so fast! We are one lucky family!

(Kevin and I got to go to the Eric Church concert a couple of weeks ago. Usually this blog is about the kiddos, but I thought we should have a small bit. Church was awesome and we had a great time!)

Kickball at Maize Central Elementary

Parker had an awesome opportunity last week at school! For the last month they had to keep track of the number of minutes they read outside of school. The top 2 kids of each grade would get to participate in a special Kickball Assembly in front of the whole school. Parker read for about 50 minutes each day and being the competitive kid he is, we crossed our fingers that it was enough AND IT WAS! So the Friday before Christmas Break was the big day for the Kickball Game. And then we had a HUGE surprise that Mike Pelfrey (pitcher from the Minnesota Twins) and Derek Norris (catcher from the San Diego Padres) were there to play with them!
Parker cracks me up...he is not afraid of anything. He went right up to Derek and asked him which baseball team he played on. NO FEAR! They had a long conversation that I couldn't hear, but I only hope that Parker didn't tell him he was on the "bad team." We are pure Royals fans at this household.
Parker admitted he was nervous. He didn't want to get out in front of the whole school. (Can't blame him) But Parker got up to kick twice and got on both times. AND he caught a pop up to get a kid out! That's a pretty good game if you ask me!

Pretty lucky 6 year old boy that loves baseball, kickball, and reading!
