All About Kendall

It's been a while since my last update on Kendall Rae. She is quite the spirited, I-want-what-I-want-when-I-want-it little girl! I just love her personality and more of it shines through every day.

Kendall loves to eat! She prefers MEAT..weird for an almost 2 year old. She will get a hamburger and pull out the meat and throw out the bread/cheese and anything else on it. Casseroles - just picks off the meat; pizza same thing. For breakfast she eats pop tarts or cereal. Lunch is chicken nuggets, fish sticks or leftovers. She sometime is picky about the meal, so if there is any controversy in dinner I can always heat up a can of green beans and she will chow down! Pineapple is probably her favorite fruit, but all the fruit she eats, she call "apple." Kendall likes to help set the table for dinner. I (or Parker) hand her the plates and silverware and she puts in on the table for us. And she is in charge of putting any trash in the trashcan. She also likes to help do laundry. Whether it is getting the laundry baskets from bedrooms, sorting colors, throwing things in the washer and/or dryer, pulling things from the dryer and putting them on our bed, or sorting socks - loves her some laundry! Hope that keeps up for the next 18 years!

As for her sleep habits, she is still quite the sleeper! Bed time is around 8 (after her bath and book). She is particular about who reads her which book. Kevin and I switch on and off who reads to her. If I'm reading, she wants "Cat in the Hat." If Kevin is reading it is "Go Dog Go" or "Big Wide Mouth Frog." And never the other way. Before reading, she runs through the house telling everyone good night. "Nigh Nigh" "Na Nou (love you)." It is the cutest thing. I haven't gotten a good video yet; she always notices the video camera and gets shy. Silly girl. She will sleep as long as 9 and nap time is usually from 12:30 - 3:30 (sometimes 4:30).

Since Kevin has been back to work both Kendall and Parker have been back at Tammy's. They both love Tammy so much and being around all the other kids. So glad they get to be with such a great sitter and their cousins too (Addie, Bo, and Jozy!).
Tornado by Little Big Town is one of Kendall favorite songs. We have CMT on in the mornings while we are getting around on the weekends, but everything comes to a halt when that song comes on. "Nado! Nado!" She definitely enjoys listening to music.
Kendall is still a thumb sucker! GRRRR! Kevin and I can tell her "thumb out" and she takes it out for a bit. But somehow it always ends up back in her mouth. I truly think she doesn't think about it and it is just a bad habit. Probably this summer we will try the nasty tasting stuff on her thumb and get this habit broken! She also still carries around her "nigh nigh" blankets. Hopefully we can kick this on too this summer and only have the blanket when she sleeps.
Kendall and Parker get along pretty good still. Parker is way more of a snuggler than Kendall is and he tries to cuddle with her. She won't have any of it. That is usually what starts their arguing. Parker does like to give her horsey-back rides and they race around the house, Kendall trying to keep up with her big brother. She has really enjoyed watching Parker play baseball. I think she is his biggest fan!
They like to play on the Kindle Book together and watch short youtube video clips too. Kendall's favorite is Oliver and Company's "Why should I worry?"
Kendall's favorite toy is her baby dolls. She likes to play mom - wrap them up, carry them around, try to dress them, feed them, etc. She also loves to swing. We were out tonight and I think she swung for about an hour. She is much more cautious than Parker was, for example the trampoline. She likes being on the trampoline, but doesn't want anyone to jump. Even when I hold her and Kevin or Parker jump, she holds her breath and you can tell by her face she isn't enjoying herself.
Kendall also has the best "look" ever! She is a teacher in training already...the look that the teacher (or mom) can give you and you know enough is enough! She has it down. The eye brows are down and she looks out of the top of her eyes at you. She just always makes me laugh!
Overall Kendall is very girlie. She loves putting on different shoes, putting on jewelry, and some of my makeup. After she gets dressed or after I get her hair put up, she likes to go show her Daddy. "Daddy, pretty??" Of course Kendall, BEAUTIFUL!
