Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Thanksgiving was the big day for Kendall. We were over at Great Grandma and Great Grandpa’s house in Maize and while we were playing on the floor on her tummy, she found herself on her back! She did it over and over and over again…way to go Kendall! Of course whenever I try to get video of her doing it, she doesn’t cooperate. Silly girl is camera shy.

Yesterday we also got some family pictures in before we headed over to Grandpa Tom and Grandma Chris's house for Thanksgiving lunch. Round 2 of turkey and the whole nine yards was super yummy!

And a random video of Parker playing cars...always playing cars!

Thanksgiving Part 1

Last Sunday we had Thanksgiving with Maus, Great Grandma, the Smith's, and Cassie & Ellah. This year we had dinner at our house with all the fixings. It was a great dinner! We followed dinner with some Wii, a craft for the kids, and then some dessert.

November Stuff

I can’t believe November is almost over. Time flies when you stay busy! Kendall is growing like a weed and I love to watch her change from day to day. She is a pretty independent baby; likes to lie on her back and bat at toys over her head or bounce in her chair. She is not a baby that HAS to be carried, but when she wants to be held she prefers to face out.

Everyone once in a while she will get all snuggly with her mommy and daddy by burying her face in our neck. Her whole body tenses up like she is giving us a hug. Kendall is also so ticklish. Her back, her side, her neck…we can usually get a cute giggle out of her without much work. She is also becoming quite the thumb sucker. If it isn’t her thumb it is her hand, her sleeve, or a blanket.

And Kendall has also found her voice. Parker and I were driving to the sitter’s house one morning and she ewwed and ohhed for the 10 minutes drive. Parker and I were giggling at her. I asked Parker what she was saying and he told me “I don’t know, it’s all gibberish” (how does he know that word??). HA!

Speaking of Parker, he says the funniest things! Driving to church today, he asked if we were on Kellogg (the highway close to our house). I laughed and told him no; thought it was funny he knew the name of the highway. He replied with “well, then are we on Maize woad (road)?” Amazes me…how does he know the name of the streets by our house?! And the other night we were having ice cream and I decided to chop up some cookies to add as a topping. When he bellied up to the table, he says “Mom, that looks delicious!” And after his first bite, he tells me when his mouth still full, “so good, I wish my mouth was bigger!” He always brings a smile to my face.
He also got his first report card this week from preschool. Both mom and dad are VERY proud of him! All stars! Some of the categories were Social Skills – communicates with teacher, verbalize first and last name, Classroom Environment – respects equipment and follows routine, Speech/Language – controls voice volume (hard to imagine!), speaks clearly, Fine & Large Motor Skills – can string beads, can run easily (didn’t need a teacher to tell me that one!), Visual and Verbal Color Recognition and lastly can recognize printed first name. His teacher’s comments were “Parker is a very sweet and happy guy. He always makes me smile! He seems to love the activities we are doing. He is very nice to everyone. I am enjoying him in class.” Way to go Parker!

Earthquake?

Yep...we felt it at our house! It is going to be a once in a lifetime memory that we felt an earthquake here in Wichita, Kansas! The kids were already in bed and Kevin and I were laying in bed watching a football game when I felt the bed bouncing around. I turned over and asked Kevin if he put a quarter in the bed thinking that he was just bouncing his leg or something. I just joked that he did and that was the end of it; we had no idea that it was an earthquake. Later my dad text me asking if I felt the earthquake. I thought he had just had one to many, but then I put it together that that is what I felt earlier! Wow, amazing! There was an earthquake down in Oklahoma and we were feeling the aftershocks. Parker and Kendall will never remember it, but in their lifetime they were in an earthquake. I hope that is the worst one they will ever be in.

Kevin has been working nights at Dillons for part time work to help get through the winter months, so I have been alone with the every night this week. Parker and Kendall have been great! Parker has been such a big boy, taking showers by himself, helping with Kendall, and putting himself to bed. Earlier in the evening last night, Maus was over visiting. We were watching a movie, Parker was playing cars in his bedroom and Kendall was bouncing away in her bouncy chair. The she discovered a brown dot behind her on her bouncy chair. It was cracking my mom and I up; she making herself go cross-eyed trying to look at it. She was even trying to grab it; hilarious!

Kendall Update

Kendall is almost 3 months old and getting to be so much fun! She reaches for toys AND her mommy and daddy. She even sits up pretty good! She enjoys Tammy's bombo chair and when she lays down she is always pulling her head up like she wants to sit. And 2 days ago...she LAUGHED! So far I'm the only one that has heard it, but I'm sure it is only a matter of time before she is laughing at everyone. Kendall has also discovered her hands, and although she still doesn't really care for the pacifier, she does like to suck on her hands. The other day she discovered her thumb and that kept her very content. We might have a thumb sucker. She is still sleeping all night (from about 9 to 7ish). On the weekends, she will get up around 7, nurse, and then sleep until about 10 or 11. Good sleeper! How did Kevin and I get so lucky to have such wonderful babies!

Halloween

Kevin and Parker did their pumpkin carving last week. Parker still isn't a big fan of the ickiness inside!

Halloween night was a perfect evening to trick-or-treat! Poor Daddy had to work at Dillons, so he didn't get to join in. But we headed over to Grandma Chris and Grandpa Tom's house to tour their neighborhood. Parker was a Transformer (Ironhide) and Kendall was a watermelon. Parker got a TON of candy and Kendall loved watching the kids run around.
