Month and a Half & Preschool

Kendall is so cute! I love that when she catches a glimpse of you she gets the biggest grin on her face. We are still waiting on the giggle though. However, she does like to talk; day and night! I’m getting used to it, but in the middle of the night she talks, groans, babbles and I feel like I always need to go check on her. But 9 out of 10 times she is sleeping. So nowadays, I wait until she is crying to check on her. We have had 2 nights this week that she slept ALL NIGHT! Went to bed around 10 and didn’t get up until around 6 the next morning. We thought it was going to be a new trend, but we aren’t quite that lucky. But I can’t complain too much, so only gets up once around 3:00. Goes to bed around 10, up at 3, and then again around 6. Only 2 more weeks before I go back to work; wouldn’t it be nice if we could cut out that middle of the night feeding! Funny story…last night she woke up at her usual time and I went into her bedroom and without thinking anything of it I poked my head over her crib to pick her up. Well, poor Kendall, it scared her to death. She jumped, stuck her big bottom lip out, and cried HARD. I felt so bad!
And as you can see, he have her propped up. We put a pillow and some blankets under her crib sheet a while back and it seems to allow her to sleep better. With all the times that she spits up, we thought that it might help if she wasn't horizontal.

We go back to Dr. Tsang next week so we will see her growth progress soon. To me she seems to be a bigger baby. I love her squishy thighs! She is a month and a half old, but is wearing 3 month clothes and sometimes 6 month clothes depending on the brand.
Parker has been enjoying preschool so far this fall. Everyday he comes home with an art project that he LOVES to show off. This week they have been studying spiders so they made spider hats among other things. If I could only be a fly on the wall at his school!

School has really worn him out! After he comes home and eats lunch he usually plays with his cars for a bit. I usually leave for volleyball practice, but Kevin says all of a sudden he will pick up his toys and then wonder into his bedroom. Kevin will go to check on him and, sure enough, he is asleep. This time it looks like he barely made it to his bed before dozing off.

Wedding

Last weekend Grandpa Kirk and Dana got married! They had planning on having the ceremony at their new house, but unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. But it turned out wonderfully at the Yacht Club at Cheney Lake where the reception was also held. It was a great evening and congrats to the new couple!
The evening started a little hectic for us, because I had a volleyball tournament that I was coaching. But when I got home I feel asleep! Oops! So Parker had to help out and feed Kendall. His first time...he did such a good job. He said that he arm kept getting tired. Ha!

And it was fun to get Kendall all dolled up for the first time!

And all the grandkids from both sides of the fam.

Then the boys got some football time in. Even though Parker was the smallest, he held his own!

Then it was time to come inside and do some dancing.

Changes...

Kendall is just over 1 month old now and she changes so much everyday! She smiles so much now and it is so cute! She doesn’t mind tummy time so much and lifts her head up. I think she is very strong for her age. She can hold her head steady for a LONG time. Kevin and I have really enjoyed staring at her staring back at us. That is how we get the most smiles. She also follows us move back and forth in front of her face. And what parent can resist the coos and ahhs! Love it! The other day Kevin was holding her and had me on speaker phone on his cell. He said that she kept moving her head toward the noise.

And she is already a Daddy’s girl. Starting at about 2:30 in the afternoon, she HAS to have her Dad. I just don’t quite cut it. 2:30 is about the time I leave for volleyball practice so she has the routine of being with Dad and falling asleep in his arms on the rocking chair. Now it doesn’t matter if I have practice or not…2:30 is Daddy Time! We have also noticed other routines that she has started. We give her a bath every other night and after she gets out of the tub and gets her lotion rub down, she HAS to nurse and then go to bed. For the most part right now, 9:30 is the magic time to go to bed for her. She gets up around 2:30 and then again at 5. Of course she has some nights that she gets up every hour, but the schedule is starting to make itself.

One big difference that we notice between Parker and Kendall is that Kendall throws up A LOT! Poor Kendall throws up all the time! It started about 2 weeks ago and it was even keeping her up at night. She would be asleep and get a sour face, wake up and throw up. For about a week she would only sleep if she was being held straight up and down. We haven’t been to the doctor about it yet because it doesn’t seem to be slowing down her growth or anything. We did contact our pediatrician and she suggested cutting milk out of my diet. It has been hard, but we think it has helped a little. Night time is where we have seen the most improvement; day time is still a lot of spit up. It has been a little difficult giving up dairy – no milk, yogurt, cheese, sour cream! But very worth it if it helps her!

Two and a half weeks old...

3 weeks old and flashing gang signs.

4 weeks old

Look at those eye lashes!

Loves her Daddy!

Parker's First Day of School

I can't believe my little boy is going to school! Parker started preschool today at Westlink Christian Church and will be attending on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 11:30. We have been a little nervous about starting school because he isn't real fond of the using the playrooms at church and they use the same rooms for preschool. However, his best buddy Caden is in the same class so that should help! Their teachers, Mrs. Hall and Miss Wilbur, got their first of "Double Trouble" the other night at Meet Your Teacher. They were a little rambunctious, but I think once they learn that school is not play time they will be just fine. Both boys are good boys about following rules (once they know them).

Today is the BIG DAY!

I dropped Kendall off with Aunt Loni so she didn't steal Parker's thunder, listened to a couple of Parker's favorite songs in on the way there, and talked about how to act at school. He was all set! I think it really helped to have Meet Your Teacher night, because he knew exactly where he was going when we got there. He found his name tag outside the classroom to hang his backpack and then we snapped some pictures with some buddies/classmates. When Mrs. Hall opened the door he went right in and got his name tag. Miss Wilbur helped him put it on. I got a kiss, hug, high five, knucks, foot five, knuck feet, "Loveya, loveya, miss you" (yes, all that and NONE of it can be left out!) and I was out the door. He did SO good!

Double Trouble!

His classroom's mascot's name is Lambie. So of course they made lambs today!
But right now that is about all I can get out of Parker. When I ask him what they did, all I get is "I dunno." Typical boy! Maybe I can fish some more info from tonight or when the idea of school isn't so fresh!
