Water Park and Baby Bo Smith

The other day we spent the afternoon with Jozzy, Jenny, and JD at the Derby water park. We had a great time and it felt good to get some sun in! Jozzy and Parker loved playing in the pool with the floating animals (alligator below), tunnel slides and all the fountains that can get you wet! Later we enjoyed the Lazy River...I think Parker got SO comfortable a couple times, he could have gone to sleep!

Then on Saturday, June 25th at 4:14, Bo Smith arrived into the world! 7 lbs, 8 oz and 19 inches long. I don't have any pictures of him yet, but he so adorable! With Aunt Loni, Uncle Eric and Baby Bo in the hospital, Addie got to spend some time with us. Being the first time at our house overnight, she did GREAT! After some popsicles and Parker took her for a ride in his truck, they enjoyed some front yard sprinkler time. Then a bath and they were off to bed. She slept all night and Parker even had to wake her up the next morning!

As you can tell, Parker is having absolutely NO FUN this summer! Yeah right!!
Welcome Baby Bo!
((And kinda boring, but they were buring the wheat field across the street from us...it was pretty cool looking and got a couple of pictures))

First Baseball Practice

Parker has had 2 weeks of baseball practice so far this summer and he is loving every minute of it! (WAY!!! better than soccer went!) They practice once a week on Saturday mornings for about 45 minutes. We signed him up for a "micro league" which means no games, just working on basic skills. They start working their "dirty alligator" (that is what the coach calls it); catching and fielding balls and then throwing. Then they each get a turn to bat and playing each position. Parker is one intense kid...I don't think surprises anyone that knows him! Even his buddy Caden is on the same "team." Those two have SO much fun together. Lord be with the teacher or coach that has them on the same class/team one day!

Coach working the "point and pull" method!

Hey batter, batter!

Dad gets to help him run the bases.

Nice job Parker! High Five!

VBS & Nature Center

Parker and I have started out summer break out at Vacation Bible School at our church. I decided to help out with his 3's class during the week and it has been a lot of fun to see him interact with his peers. It starts at 9:10 with fun and games in our class, then we head to crafts where we have so far made sunglasses, a hat, and a crab (the theme at Bible School is Beach Bash). After that is recess (Parker's favorite!!) and then on to Music (his LEAST favorite - not a song and dance kinda guy right now). Story time, snack, and missions wraps up the morning. It has been a great week!!!!

Today, we also headed out east to the Great Plains Nature Center for an exhibit on snakes. I thought Parker might be a bit scared, but NOPE! He got to touch the snakes and watch one of them eat a mouse. He was pretty entrigued with the feeding. We also walked around the rest of the museum and saw some really cool stuff.

Part of the museum was listening to different Kansas wildlife after you push a button. It really suprised him when the sound came from under the table. The first time was the best and of course I didn't get that on film. Of well, the other times were funny too!

2011 Memorial Day

We went up to Fox Lake on the Sunday of Memorial Weekend. It was SUPER windy, but Parker and us still had a great time soaking in the sun. Parker got to ride on JD's motorcycle, play with Grandma Chris and Jozzy and get his feet wet in the COLD water. He slept really good that night!

New Playground!

Kevin has been working so hard on building Parker (and baby Meirowsky to come) a playground in the backyard. It is really coming along and I KNOW Parker will love it in the near future. He is already enjoying time on it right now and he appreciates it. (The other night when we were heading to bed, Parker was going through his normal routine...shower, then before I read to him, he gives Kevin hug, kiss, five, nucks, foot five, foot nucks, and "loveu, loveu, missu." He started off to his room and swung around and said "oh daddy, thanks for my fort." It was the cutest thing; totally out of the blue and not suggested. SO CUTE!)

Kevin just has the swings section of the playground and the roof of the fort. Parker is a lucky boy!!
