Merry Christmas to all!! I know that we had a wonderful time with friends and family and we hope that everyone else did as well.
Poor Parker woke up Christmas Eve morning with a swollen eye (as you can see below). Kevin and I's first reaction was that he had pink eye, but there were no crusties and his eye wasn't red. It was just so swollen and puffy. So then we thought he had a black eye or something like that. Parker said it hurt, but as the day went on the puffiness went down slightly. So we just decided to watch it and hope that it would go down.
So here he is Christmas morning...not a lot better. We ended up at the ER that night. They said it was an infection; probably something he got in his eye and it would get better on it's own. Oh well - better safe than sorry. We did get some eye drops and it was completely better in 24 hours.

The eye infection didn't stop Santa though! Parker got a pitching machine, a bullseye velcro ball blow up, along with all kinds of good stuff. Santa must have felt sorry for him for his eye!
On Christmas Eve, we ended our day at the Meirowsky household. We packed the house with all the cousins and second cousins too! 9 in all! Parker got a camera made for kids from Grandma and Grandpa that he loves! He walks around the house telling everyone (including the dog) to say "CHEESE!"
We had just come from Maus's house where he got to spend time with his other cousins. Maus got him a Mobigo - a handheld game that he can touch the screen and play. Most of the games are educational and he has been pretty attached to the new toy. It is amazing to me how fast he picks up on those type of things. He has taught me how to play some of the games.
The morning started with Parker's puffy eye, but we still enjoyed opening our gifts. We got Parker Mario Bros Go Kart for Wii. It is a little tough for him right now, but I'm sure he will be beating me sooner than later. I got some well needed warm clothes for softball season and you can see Kevin modeling his new TV.
For anyone to truely appreciate this video, you must understand Parker's love for Cars right now. He easily has 25 cars from the movie Cars (probably more, not sure) plus all his Hot Wheel cars. And he keeps them lined up on his bed when he is not playing with them. They all have to be just right before he goes to bed or takes a nap. Obsession!!!
Earlier in the week, we had my dad over and celebrated Christmas. Parker got a couple toys, but he loved the car that Grandpa got him and played with that most of the night.
Like last year, Parker was a big help getting ready for Christmas. I didn't get to help though this year...Kevin opted not to work this winter, but instead hang out with Parker. So the first of the month I came home to a decorated house. I missed helping out, but I'll admit it was nice that it was all done.
Parker and I even tackled a gingerbread house (made out of graham crackers). It was just okay. Maybe I will get better next year?
We took our Christmas card pictures...we made it a quick photo session. We pulled it off in 10 minutes one morning before church. Thanks Maus!
For anyone who carefully reads to blog, you might get some early news. Parker is going to be a big brother sooner than later! We found out a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't been to the doctor yet. My appointment is January 11th and we plan on sharing the news after that. Of course our immediate family knows and they are very excited! We have told Parker that Mommy is going to have a baby; not sure if it has sunk in or not - or if he even understands what that means. Lots of exciting times ahead!
Parker is already trying to scare his little brother/sister. (He was enjoying Kevin's hunting gear)
