June

It has been a busy month in June, but Parker has managed to entertain us as usual. Of course, he is playing some baseball and getting better and better at it. He loves to hit the ball and he does good at watching the ball. He is at least holding the ball correct now; we just have to work on his feet. (Come on Mom...the kid is 2 1/2 give him a break! - I know, I know)

We are about to move out of Maus's house, but Parker has her puzzles mastered. This one is his favorite - of course because it is about baseball.

And Parker has an imaginary friend that he talks about for about the past month or so. Her name is Debbie and he talks about her pretty frequently. She is hardly ever around for Kevin and I to meet her, because she is always "getting gas." She can drive and her car is purple. We have also discovered that she lives very close to us, just "right over there." Debbie is NOT his girlfriend, but Parker says that they are the same size (not big like Mommy and Daddy). Debbie comes and goes a lot "Debbie here" then a minute later "Debbie bye-bye." Hopefully Debbie will make the adjustment at the new house!

Lastly, Parker is still enjoying the water. He loves that cousin Addie can enjoy it with him.

Loving her popsicles!

Kevin has magic hands...he can make the ball stay up! Go Daddy!

Long Time Away!

Kevin and I's 5-year anniversary came this year and we decided to "get-away!" So we went somewhere warm! We took a cruise out of Florida to Grand Cayman where we took a Jeep excursion and toured the island and Cozumel where we shopped til we dropped. It was beautiful as you can see. We met some great people and neither one of us have ever ate so much yummy/gourmet food in all our life! The weather was perfect, the shows/comedians/acts were hilarious, and Kevin and I got to spend some wonderful quality ADULT time together. But it our first time away from Parker for such a long time (it was so hard!) He can drive you SO crazy, but you miss him like mad when he isn't driving you up the wall. Funny how that works. We left on a Friday morning, so we took him over the Grandma Chris's office to drop him off for the weekend. That was the first time he ever slept of out his own bed. Grandma said he was pretty sad the first night, calling for Mommy & Daddy (doesn't that break your heart?!?), but he did good after that. Or at least that is what she tells us. Sunday afternoon, Maus was delivered the bundle of energy. She took the week off from work to spend time with Parker. I bet it might have been easier for him over there since he is used to sleeping at Maus's house since we are living there while we build. He got to go bowling and go to the zoo that week. Hopefully he didn't torture the Grandmas that much while we were away.
OH BOY Kevin and I couldn't wait to get back to see our little man. We didn't get back to Wichita until about 10:00 Thursday night, but when we got to see Parker, the 12 hours in an airport made it all worth it. He couldn't give us enough hugs and kisses. He would go back and forth between us and he had a million things to tell us (even though we might have only understood 100 of the words). Parker kept telling us "Miss you Mommy" "Miss you Daddy." Those have to be the best words a parent can hear after being separated for a week from your baby! The biggest accomplishment that he couldn't wait to tell us was that he learned to use the potty chair!!!!! yea...no more diapers!!!
(Fast forward about a month; Parker is doing so well with potty training. He still doesn't have the pooping thing down; he tells us AFTER he does it. Darn it! But he will let us know before he pees even if we are out and about. Sometimes we are driving and he tells me from the backseat and I tell him to hold it and he does without a problem. Also, he doesn't have any accidents at night or during nap time. We did the diaper thing for about a week and I noticed that it was a waste of a diaper, so we started just wearing boxers to bed. No Accidents! YEA PARKER! So 2 1/2 years old and almost potty trained!!)

We met some wonderful people from all over the US; the deck day 2 was a very lively place!

We have been to Hell and back...haha! Pretty neat place. This place used to be underwater and the coral reef looks kinda like someone's version of hell.

Kevin took this picture on Grand Cayman's beach. It was so pretty...it looks like a postcard or something.

Cozumel had the bluest water! We didn't see any oil from the disaster that is happening; thank goodness!

Memorial Weekend

After taking 6A State at KU on Saturday, we spent the night and then headed to Fox Lake for the annual lake-time fun! Cousin Jozzy is really movin' and groovin' so it is fun to see them play together. She is still SO tiny (compared to Parker); she even fits in the sand toy wagon.

Parker enjoyed the water the most (of course!). He collected shells and had fun seeing how deep he could get without stressing me out. Of course, there were horseshoes and time to swing. Always "higher Daddy, higher!" This kid has no fear!
But he sure loves his Daddy!

The craziest part of the day was probably right before we left because a huge storm came rumbling through. We stayed in Grandma Chris and Grandpa Tom's camper while buckets of rain fell from the sky, lighting and thunder surrounded us, and the winds were blowing like crazy. We thought it blew the canapy right off the camper, but it ended up being okay. Parker was a little concerned, but overall, was into the movie that we had playing as a distraction.

STATE CHAMPIONS!

Pre game speech! Got 'em fired up!

I know this is Parker's blog, but I have to brag for a second. Besides, Parker, was part of the excitement (and he kept Kevin on his toes all weekend!)

MAIZE SOFTBALL WON 6A STATE SOFTBALL THIS WEEKEND! GO EAGLES!

We won the first game Friday afternoon against Garden City 8 -0; we were hitting machines. I got everyone in the game and the team just looked phenomenal! I could tell we were a little nervous. The field was beautiful up at KU and we weren't used to playing in front of a crowd that big. However, we adjusted pretty quickly and crushed the ball. Our next game was against Washburn Rural who had not lost a game yet in their season; that is not until they met us! There parents were so obnoxious wearing T-shirts that said 25-0 on them and they did cheers during the games. So annoying! We beat them 5 - 3; AWESOME! We had a couple hours off before we met up with Olathe South who we beat 10 - 3. We just dominated offensively all weekend and our defense did a great job. I could not be more proud of the girls; they worked so hard and deserved the State Title.
And YES, they got me good! I got to celebrate with a wet butt the rest of the afternoon; I'll take that again any day!

Parker watched the games all weekend - well, I say watch. He mostly played with rocks and threw balls around. And both days were SO HOT! He wanted to be held every once in a while, but it was way too hot for that. He did enjoy the time in the pool during our down time and our hotel had indoor mini golf. A 2-year old's dream!

Overall, a weekend to remember for a REALLY LONG TIME! Here is a short video of all the fun we had!

Mother's Day

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Kevin is such a great daddy and is always there for me. Thanks for the yummy perfume honey!

Parker is the best little boy a mommy could have - he is such a lover boy; loves to hug and kiss. Especially Eskimo Kisses (you have to say "do-do-do-do" when you do it though)! He protects me when mean ol' daddy tries to get me and fights him off with his boxing moves. He also gives me kisses when I have a boo-boo. Parker makes me so proud. He is so smart and I can't wait to see him grow up.

And thank you for my awesome mommy. Where would we be without our moms! We would definitely be homeless.

Thank you Lord...Amen!

Ellah joins us!

Parker's cousin Ellah joined us on May 17th. She is so tiny!!! She and mom are both doing good and she continues to grow. She has lots of love from the family. Parker loves babies...he likes to kiss Ellah on the head. SMMMOOOCCCCHHHH

PAT Celebration

Back in mid-May, Parker had a great time at the end of the year celebration for the Parents As Teachers (PAT) End of the Year party. He feel asleep on the way there (the HUGE 5 minute trip), so it took him a little bit to "wake up" and see all the excitement going on around him. He got to ride the horse, feed some sheep and goats, paint a picture of a horse, have some ice cream, and play on the playgroud. All enough to wipe him back out to have a good nights' rest.
