Kevin's 30th & Table Rock Lake

As I mentioned last time, Kevin's 30th was fast approaching and that was the reason for the trip to OKC and to disguise the suprise birthday party that I had planned for the big day. Well, all was fine and well until we got back from OKC and one of the invitations that I had mailed came back because I had the wrong address - and guess who got the mail? Darn it, it wasn't a suprise, but we still had a good time! All of Kevin's friends and family joined us at Felipe's Mexican Restaurant. It was good food and good times!

Then this last weekend was our yearly trip down to Table Rock Lake with the Woodard Family. We were able to leave Thursday afternoon and came back Sunday early evening. Friday morning we found a playground for Parker to burn some energy on and then we hung out on the new boat dock - more specifically the swim deck!
Kevin and I have said in the past that we don't think Parker is scared of anything...and we can confirm jumping off the dock and going completely underwater is another thing he is NOT scared of. Actually he came up clapping and laughing (and spitting out water) and wanting to do it again. About the 50th time, Kevin and I had to say "no more" because we were tired. He hasn't quite mastered the ladder yet. Then Saturday wasn't the best lake day - it rained all morning and then was cloudy and a little chilly in the afternoon, but we still hit the lake all the same. We joined Cassie and Montana in their jet boat and had a good time crusing around. Then Sunday we only had a couple of hours before we had to head back and imagine this - it was a BEAUTIFUL day! Grandma Kirk took us out on his HUGE Fountain boat and let Parker drive. Parker enjoyed the water!

Fair, Baby Addie & OKC

Well...it has been a busy couple of weeks. We have had an addition to the family, met some "wild" animals, and Kevin and I took a mini vacation!

First and most importantly, the addition to the family. Addie Jo Smith arrived Tuesday night July 7th at 11:34 (if my memory serves me). She weighed 7 lb 10 oz (same as Parker) but was an inch longer - 21 inches. She must have been good and curled up tight, because Aunt Loni sure didn't show it! She is such a cute baby...

A week later...

Parker is not quite sure what to think. He gets pretty jealous when I hold Addie, but he is slowly, but surely getting better. I'm sure within the next year, he will be teaching Addie all kinds of things!

And look at the bad things that Mom is already teaching her baby. She must be a smart girl, she learned that while she was still inside her mommy!

The weekend after Addie was born was the County Fair. The M&M ball team always plays in the softball tournament and we always have a good time. This time was no exception, but it certainly could have been a bit cooler! It has been a long time since we sweat that much! Between games Parker enjoyed looking at the geese, hens, and rabbits.

Then just this last weekend Kevin and I took a trip to Oklahoma City 1) to get away - it has been a long time and 2) to celebrate Kevin's upcoming 30th birthday. We arrived Friday early afternoon. Neither of us had really been down there, but we guessed a GREAT hotel. Our room was in center field for their baseball field. Too bad they were playing out of town that weekend. Plus the hotel was within walking distance to everything. We headed first to the Memorial. Very beautiful place!

Then that night we walked to the Water Walk - AMAZING! We first ate at Toby Keith's Bar and Grill (yummy) and then hit up the bars, clubs, and just enjoyed the scenery. OKC definitely takes pride in this area!

There were boat rides down the river, a person doing flame-throwing, horse carriage rides, and just the ultimate night life. Saturday morning we slept in then drove (the only place we drove all weekend) about 20 minutes to a casino. We didn't have any luck there - darn it! Headed back to our hotel, but stopped at Bass Pro Shop and shopped around there for a while. Then we went out to eat at a great Italian restaurant, Zio's. So good! It was still early when we left there, so decided to go to a movie. If you haven't seen Hangover - it is a must see (if you are an adult!!!). Hilarious! Did the night scene again and called it a evening. Sunday we ate at IHOP before we headed home. What a great, relaxing, fun weekend! Thanks to both Grandma's for watching Parker!! From what I can tell, he didn't miss us much!

Family Photos

With all the family in town, we took some family pictures. A family friend, Gennie Shields, and Grandma Lisa took the photos at Oak Park and then we headed back to our house for a BBQ and pool time. Here are some of the pictures Grandma took. I will post more - especially the family shoots - when Gennie gets them together.

4th of July

It was another wonderful weekend out in Cassody at Fox Lake over the 4th of July! And it was all the more the merrier out there because Grandma Chris's sister, Cynthia, and brothers, Rod and Bruce, and mom, Great Grandma Doloras, came out to join the "regulars." So all together there were : Grandpa Tom, Grandma Chris, Great Grandma Doloras, Bruce and his son Kylar, Rod, Cynthia, Aunt Jenny and Jozlynn, Uncle Jason, Aunt Denise, and cousins Miles, Brileigh, Jase, and Lily...whew...so 18 people in all! Not to mention Grandma and Grandpa's dogs Zoey, Bear and Haley! It was a good family reunion.
Everyone enjoyed a ride on a tube pulled by the jetski or a ride on the 4 wheeler. Of course the regular horseshoe tourney took place (and once again, Jenny and Rod kicked butt!). Parker enjoyed the water and beach. He is not afraid of anything...he loves to freak me out! He has no problem going all the way under water; he just comes up laughing. And he LOVED the fireworks! At first he was a little scared. When they went off he jumped, but then he liked being scared and would jump and then laugh. By the time the Big Show went off, he was loving them, clapping and yelling for more! Again, Parker did a good job in the tent and we had a great time at the lake!
