Catch Up...

Softball is over, grades are in, kids are gone and summer is here! This is my attempt to catch up on all that has been happening in Parker's life.

Saving it for later...

Memorial Weekend...

We spent Memorial Weekend at Fox Lake and had a great weekend! The weather was perfect and Parker had a fun time. We made our way over there Saturday morning, stayed the night, and came home Sunday evening. Parker LOVED the 4-wheeler. He had a hard time prying him off the thing; he even fell asleep on it. Kevin took Parker and I for a ride over bumpy rocks, through streams and over hills and on the way back I noticed Parker's head bobbing up and down and when I looked closer, we was ASLEEP! People were laughing as we passed them; it had to be a pretty cute scene!
We also took the family dog, Reagan, with us and between the other dogs, Zoey and Bear, they had a great time! Parker and cousin Jozlynn spent some time at the beach playing in the water. What a relaxing weekend!

We were a little worried about how Parker would sleep in the tent, but he had no problem!! The only problem we had was that there was a DJ that Saturday night (about 50 yards from our tent) and he played until midnight! Parker usually goes to bed around 7 and he "cut a rug" until about 10 and he had had enough. We took him back to the tent and told him to lay down and he did. It only lasted about 30 seconds and then he was back up dancing. Told him to lay down and he did, only to get back up and start dancing again. He finally wore himself out and fell asleep. Didn't wake up until morning...even slept through the fireworks they set off for the DJ's last song. He was OUT!

Oklahoma City...

I surprised the varisty softball team this year with a trip to Oklahoma City to watch the Big 12 Softball Tournament. Grandma Lisa, Kevin and Parker joined the team and we had a blast!

And we were wiped out for the way home! I know I'm a BAD MOTHER...he should have been in his car seat. Don't show any police officers!

Mother's Day...
Tom and Chris took all the Meirowsky Mom's out for breakfast on Mother's Day. Parker knew exactly what Mommy needed...he got me some tanning sessions! Megan & Layton's wedding is coming up and I don't want to be a ghost up on stage. Thanks Parker!

River Festival Volleyball...

It was Wichita River Festival time again this year. This time around Grandpa Tom added the group (Grandma Chris, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Eric, Dad and me plus some people we play softball with) to the Beach Volleyball Tournament. Saturday was FREEZING!!! It was cold and windy and not the best day to play volleyball, but we had fun all the same. Parker, Aunt Loni, and Grandma Lisa joined us for the afternoon. Our team did pretty good considering the conditions we were playing in. Sunday was the complete opposite of Saturday - perfect weather!!! We all got plenty of sun and ended up taking 4th in the tournament. Parker had fun with some sand toys and we went and fed the geese. Also a train kept going by that we waved at.

Parker trying to beat up his Mother!!!

Thanks for sharing Uncle E!

In General at 16 months...
Parker is still a great sleeper. He goes to bed usually around 7:00 and sleeps all night through about 8:00. When it works out he is up for a couple of hours and then goes back down for a nap, back up for lunch, couple hours of play and then, yes...another nap! Hard to imagine sleeping for 17 hours a day, but Parker does it.
Not only a sleeper, but an eater! Parker snacks all morning long in the kitchen and eats pretty much anything that Kevin and I eat. Loves green beans and sweet potatoes, bananas and grapes, PBJs and any type of crackers. He goes through spells where he is just not interested in eating...he is just to busy for that. But other days, he can't get enough. He is Mr. Independent when it comes to eating. He always uses a fork or spoon - even when it is not necessary. If he is having trouble sticking it with the fork, he will pick it up and put it on top of the spoon or fork to eat it. Silly boy!
When he is not eating or sleeping, Parker could spend all of play time with his bat and ball. He uses his bat and "golfs" the ball around the living room or backyard. The babysitter said that there were some days that he was out there all day long playing ball. And recently, he hits the ball , drops the bat, and takes off running. Not sure where he picked that up, but it is really cute!
He also loves to point at the air planes as they fly over the house. Even when we are inside and hears one, he still points to the ceiling. So smart! He has also mastered the stairs - up and down. He likes to throw things downstairs so he has to go get them. Parker still enjoys his books too. I always leave a book or two in his crib and before or after his nap he will entertain himself for about 15/20 minutes looking at books.

Parker is also a little cling-on right now! Whenever we are in a "new" place Parker is a little pain in the butt! Usually he is a Mommas-boy, but just as long as someone will hold him! But when we are home or at a place that is familiar to him, get out of the way!
Overall, Parker is still pretty quiet. Well, I shouldn't say quiet, but not saying a lot of words. He is a chatter box at home with Mom and Dad. He tries to say things, and sometimes we hear it, like "pizza," but then we don't hear it again! Oh-well, he doesn't have the vocal thing going on right now, but the physical is definitely going. And he does a good job of communicating what it is that he wants by pointing. And he is always surprising us by what he understands. He might not be talking, but he knows what we are saying. Ask him to go get his mower, or bat and ball, get your shoes, time to go...he will be talking before we know it!

Making Up for Lost Time

Loni's Shower...(only a couple more months to go!)

Parker's first girlfield Riley. Remember her making out with Parker a couple of months back?

Leave it to Aunt Cassie!

Hanging out at home a couple days back. We love the temperature; if we could just do something about all this rain!

He is growing up so fast...but this is pushing it! It is not time for school yet!

Easter at Grandma Chris & Grandpa Tom's house. Parker had a lightsaber and was on the attack!

Easter Morning at our house. Parker got an easter basket, but not filled with candy. He got a fun car that play "Rockin Around the Clock" and a dragon glider.

We also had Easter at Grandma Lisa's house. Parker enjoyed the indoor easter egg hunt and all the yummy food!
