Crazy Parker

Parker just loves to entertain us! I honestly don't know what we did before him; I really think Kevin and I could just watch him all night and never get bored. I can't wait until he is 18 and can watch himself do these funny things! (Sorry...it is a little lengthy, but he is just so darn cute!)

Still lovin' that pillow! We find him every once in a while sleeping with his butt up in the air!

Don't let this picture be deceiving; no, he is not crawling yet. But he does get up on all fours and sway back and forth. He gets so frustrated with himself!

And we are working on the spoon thing. This morning it was pancakes and bananas! Yummy!

Just have to thank my Grandma one more time for buying my family the camera that I take all the pictures and videos with. I don't know what I'd do without it!

Back to School...

Well sadly, I'm officially back to school and I'm already missing my time with the Parkster. Dropping him off at the sitter has been difficult and if I hear "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins one more time...killin' me!! But now I have two reasons to look forward to coming home in the afternoon; of course the other being Kevin!
Last week was a busy one around here. Tuesday we celebrated my birthday my mom and Loni and Wednesday we celebrated with my dad. Gotta drag those things out as long as possible. Then Thursday I had a Relay for Life meeting.
Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The Maize Softball Girls and myself decided to put a team together, raise some money and participate. Altogether we raised about $1,700 - AWESOME! The evening started at 7 pm Friday night and went until 7 am Saturday morning and was held at Maize South Middle School.
Someone from your team had to be walking the track during the 12 hours, so we all took our rotations. They had TONS of activities for everyone else who wasn't walking - volleyball, ladderball, washers, plinko, twister, a DJ, a moonwalk, massages, and so much food! The girls and I had a blast, but I was definitely tired about being up for about 26 hours! Parker got to come up for a little while. He really enjoyed looking around; there was so much to see.
Then Saturday Parker got to experience his first power outage. The storm rolled though early evening and brought quite the lightning and thunder. Our electricty went out, but Parker still enjoyed himself!! Scary Parker!!!

And the other day, Parker got to meet one of my favorite softball players from Maize, Christy Jones. She graduated in 2007 and went to Georgia Tech to play softball. It was great to see her again and see that she is doing great! Too bad Parker wasn't in the best of moods to join us in the picture.

6 month checkup...

Well we went back to Dr. Tsang's office again today for Parker's 6 month checkup and the ever favorite SHOTS! As of this morning, Parker weighs 20 pounds 10 ounces and he is 27 3/4 inches. Needless to say, he is healthy! She was impressed that he was already sitting up on his own and had lots of teeth! 3 to be exact. Speaking of teeth...oh boy have we had it the last couple of nights! 2 nights ago I was up from 2 to about 4:30 when I finally gave in and put him to bed with us. A first in a VERY long time. He would wake up screaming, I would pick him up and almost instantly he would fall asleep on me. But as soon as I put him down, he would wake up and sceam again. That night his top left tooth popped in. Teething has not been an easy process for Parker. Last night was a little better; he didn't start screaming until about 6:00am. I can't image what they go through. I hate when I have a toothache. And I've read that their bladders get bigger around this age, so they can hold more urine, and I believe it! He peed all over himself this morning, so we had to change his sheets and clothes this morning at 6...he was not real happy about all that. But he finally calmed down and fell back asleep.
SORRY NO PICTURES THIS TIME!

The most adorable little foot!!!

I can't believe my summer is already over! I go back to school next week and have to leave this little guy! :( We have had so much fun this summer...he let me sleep in, take walks, go garage sale shopping, take naps, go to the pool, and best of all just hang out and play! And I can't believe he is already 6 months old. Everyone always told me that time will fly by and to enjoy every moment. I thought "Whatever!" especially those nights when I only got 2 hours of sleep, those days when I felt like I was nursing him ALL day, or those hours of nonstop crying. He is so grown up now. Parker is a huge momma's boy right now, but I keep telling Kevin that after this winter and Kevin being home with him everyday, he will be a daddy's boy.
The last couple of weeks have been pretty low key. Kevin celebrated his 29th birthday a couple of weeks ago. I got him the new Blackberry Curve and we left Parker with Great Grandma James so we could catch a flick. If you haven't seen the new Batman movie, it is a must see!! And last weekend we joined friends at Wes Becker's wedding. It was a nice wedding and we had a great time! Volleyball camp for me was this week, but other than that things have been fairly slow. My birthday is next week, so Kevin got me a day at the spa that I couldn't be more excited about! Especially with school right around the corner.
Last night, Friday, Aunt Loni and Uncle Eric had some friends and family over for a BBQ. It was a good time and nice to catch up with everyone. Below is Alex Harvey, a friend of Loni and Eric, Loni and Grandma Lisa. Parker just loves cellphones! Grandma had recorded Parker laughing. Parker thought is was pretty funny listening to himself.
Enjoying Saturday morning cartoons...okay he is probably a little young to be "enjoying" them, but it gives mom and dad some time to enjoy some breakfast!
And we can't have breakfast without a show following. We bought the bubbles for Parker, but the dogs like them better! Get 'em Oscar!
