Memorial Weekend

Parker got his first taste of Fox Lake Life on Sunday. As you can see he was the life of the party! He just loves it outside; there has been a couple times we are at home and he gets fussy and we have to do it take him outside. And the world is at peace again! So he loved being out at the lake. He made the 45 minute drive just fine, sleeping pretty much the whole time. Then we tried to visit the water, but it was to windy and still pretty cool out. After being passed around at the lake and watching some horseshoes, he was pooped and took a nap. When he woke up, we got to play some more and Grandma Chris took him for a walk in the stroller. We had to leave early due to all the storms that just kept hitting Kansas that weekend, but we got home just fine.

Monday we visited Grandma Lisa. She has a CRAZY hand puppet lamb that talks up a storm. Parker kept getting wide-eyed when it talked. It was so cute. He was trying to figure that thing out. Then Wednesday we got to celebrate Grandma Lisa graduating college. Parker got all dressed up for the occassion. Too bad his shirt was not long enough to cover that HUGE belly! He was letting it all hang out that night! I just can't get over how big my "little" boy is getting.

1st Haircut

I couldn't take it any long and cut off some of his bangs. They were hanging in his eyes; poor little guy. It has been so much fun coming home to him right after school. I've been missing out on all his progression! Parker is working hard to sit up right now. He is getting close to pulling himself up, but with some help he can sit there for a while. Sometimes he falls over foward and get SO frustrated! He has all the motions for crawling down, if only he could pick up his belly! He can inch forward when he works at it. Also, he is quite the talker right now. It is hilarious to hear him. He gets going sometimes and forgets to breath and his face gets all red. It is so funny. Here is a short glimpse of what I'm talking about...

And the other day, I got him a new toy and he has really been enjoying it. Parker's hand-eye coordination is coming along. He grabs for toys and turns his head at noises around him. We tried to take him out the other day and got fussy, so we put him back. Then he fell asleep in it! Look at those double chins!!

Okay, I'll be a bad mommy! It has been FOREVER since I've updated the blog, but to my defense it has been super busy around here. School is out in 3 days and Maize softball has come to an end (so I have no excuse now). Parker is sleeping better at night. He will go to bed now around 10:30 and usually gets up around 2 and then again around 6. On a good night he will sleep from 10:30 to 4. Won't complain...we have come a long way in a couple months. He LOVES to talk! Tammy, our babysitter, says he talks all day long; Kevin and I get to hear him on the weekends. Still haven't heard a big laugh yet, but he is a chuckler. However, all his smiles make up for the lack of laughter. About 2 weeks ago, Parker rolled over for the first time from front to back. He had done it before with the assistance of a pillow, but this time he was all by himself. He is getting close going from back to front. Every time I update, I mention how fast Parker is growing...and this time is no exception. He is getting so big! He is a little chunk, but he is also so long! We are at 3 1/2 months and he already wears clothes for 9 months old. He also has really started enjoying his playmat. He reaches for the hanging toys and giggles when they rattle or make noises. His hands are a popular toy right now. He watches them and chews on them constantly. We have tried out the jogging stroller too. Mom needs to get back in shape...I'm sure Parker is thinking "is this all the faster this thing goes?" We'll be moving by the end of the summer Parker - promise!
I had a great first Mother's Day. We started at Great Grandma's Church then went to Wyldewood Winery for a picnic lunch with Grandma Lisa. Then Parker and I got to hang out that evening; he was good all day and we got some great pictures.

As I mentioned earlier, the last week or so have been so busy! Parker has been quite the superstar everywhere we go. He has been to a couple of the Eagle Softball games and is quite the flirt with all the girls! Parker made some appearances at some the of graduation parties of the seniors and was so good. This was after being at the ballfield all day because Kevin and I were playing in the coed softball tournament for Riverfest. Such a trooper!

Only 3 more days of school with kids and then 2 inservice days AND I'M DONE!! I can't wait to be with Parker every day. We are going to have so much fun.
