2 Months Old!

Well the first picture couldn't be more appropriate! haha Little Parker is doing great! For the most part he sleeps in about 4 hour blocks at night, but he still has his bad nights allowing us only a couple hours. This last week was his first week away from home almost every day. I returned to work and so did Kevin. We have great babysitters. Loni (and Eric) watch him on Tuesdays and Thursday and a Tammy Hall, a family friend, that does daycare watches him on the other days. It's nice to know he is in safe hands! It was so hard to be away from him all day; I just can't wait to get home in the evenings. The count down is definitley on...7 more weeks and then it's summer! Parker and I will be home every day together! Kevin and I have told him he can't do anything new or exciting while we are away. He has to save it for the evenings or weekends. We are still waiting on that laugh.

Parker's milestones : he is great at keeping his head up and still when we are holding him. Sleeping much better! Loving his bath time; we are doing that about every other night right before bed time. The babysitters claim he is an angel during the day (keeps the "Trouble" side of him for mom and dad at night). He follows moving objects with his eyes much better and loves the light!

Easter!

Easter was wonderful this year. We started by getting up 3 hours before we had to be anywhere and used every minute of it to get ready for the day. We have discovered that this is a must if we don't want to be late.

Parker's little Easter outfit we got didn't quite fit yet, but we found a springy outfit for him and then we went over to Tom and Chris's for lunch and met up with with the rest of the family. Jason and Denise's kids hunted eggs and we had burgers to eat. Parker really enjoyed seeing all the kids and finally meeting Great Grandma D. Next we headed over to my mom's house for dinner. Again, great food. We always walk away from the holidays weighing about 10 lbs heavier. And then we went home and crashed! What a day!

Aunt Loni Babysitting

It's Spring Break and that means I have to go back to work! This week Loni has had to watch Parker a couple of times while I had softball practice. It looks like he really misses his Mom and Dad huh?

Look at those huge slippers! They don't quite fit yet, but they are definitely keeping his feet warm.

All Smiles : 6 Weeks

Parker has been all smiles lately; we can't wait to hear that belly laugh! We were getting some tummy time in this morning and when I turned him over he was so happy. Yesterday when on his belly, he actually rolled over! He is too young to do that, but he is so strong. The last two days he has been backed up so we've had to go the suppository route; poor little guy. Hopefully after we get over this spell, he will go back to sleeping better. He was sleeping in 4 hour blocks at night and Mom needs that because I go back to work in 1 week. It will be so hard to leave him behind all day. Softball will keep me away for about 12 hours! Talk about can't wait to get home. I just have to keep reminding myself it is only 8 weeks and then I will be home all day long.

Parker's hair just keeps growing (and growing straight up!). Dad and I keep looking for it to fall out, but maybe we will get lucky. He is so cute with that full head of hair. However, every time I wash it, it goes CRAZY!
Right now, a couple of Parker's favorite things are his swing and his buddy Fred. Dad went and bought the swing a couple of weeks ago and Parker loves it. In the morning after he eats, his swing is all he wants. I think he is just Mr. Independent and wants his alone time. And in the evening it is great for settling him down before bed. And as for Fred, you can find him in the picture below in the middle left...yes, the man without the mouth. We are apart of a group called Parents as Teachers at Maize and they provide lots of support including playgroups, hearning/vision screenings, and professional to ask questions and get support from. Our professional is Stephanie and is great. She gave us some some pictures and books that Parker can look at. (Did you know that all Parker can see right now is gray - no colors really, except red. And faces are just darker blobs! No wonder they sleep so much. Life is boring!) Anyway, we named the man without a mouth Fred and he is also on Parker's changing table. He loves to "talk" to him when we are changing him. Definitely his best friend, other than his parents of course!! Oh, and the reason he doesn't have a mouth is because it is a problem solving for babies. Supposedly, he tries to figure out what is wrong/missing. Whatever it is, it keeps him interested.

Already 1 month!!

Wow, it has gone so fast! Great Grandma and Grandpa Woodard got back from their trip in Texas, Arizona, and California, so they were able to finally visit their new great grandson. Parker's stomach is growing slowly, so he is eating more and sleeping longer. That is when he is not being fussy! He is not a colic baby, but he definitely has digestion problems. Poor little guy has bad gas and here lately has had a tummy ache. We took him to the doctor yesterday. Not only did we find out that he has gained some weight - now he is an 11 pounder - but he has a little jaundice again and a sore throat too. I would be cranky too. Today, he seems to be feeling better, so we are hoping for some sleep tonight. That has definitely been one of the biggest adjustments for Kevin and I. I think we both knew our sleeping habits would be different, but had no idea that 3 hours of sleep at night would be a lot.

Maize softball has started so Kevin has had Daddy duty in the afternoon for about 4 hours a day. Most of the time Parker has been pretty good. The team is looking good too. Parker has already made one appearance out at the fields; thought we should show him around. He is already a huge Eagle fan - see he already is wearing his Power Eagle - thanks Grandma Lisa!
